As part of the Metro Park Project, GROUPE provided consulting services to transform an underutilized 26-acre industrial and residential property into a 1.1 million square foot mixed-use office and commercial complex. Before site and building development, we provided land planning services and reviewed utility services, floodplain limits, stormwater management requirements, transportation improvements, and identified site development opportunities.
GROUPE provided site planning, boundary, topographic and construction stakeout surveying for over one million square feet of office space in multiple phases, including free-standing multi-level, parking structures.
We designed 3,500 linear feet of entry roadway and approximately 6,000 linear feet of 6” and 12” water main; and, performed hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for the comprehensive SWM/BMP facility.
The work involved extensive renovation to the alignment of Beulah Street, an existing roadway, in a developed commercial/residential neighborhood. We provided topographic and construction surveying and prepared plans and profiles for over 2,000 linear feet of Walker Lane and Metro Park Drive and designed an additional lane on the Franconia/Springfield Parkway which provided access to the Franconia/Springfield Metro Station. We were also responsible for the turn lane design and median cross-over improvements for the intersection at Franconia Parkway and Beulah Street. Work included the design of pavement sections, curb and gutter, walkway, storm sewer, utility crossing, landscape modifications, and design for automotive/pedestrian signals. Traffic maintenance plans as well as striping and signage plans were also designed.
